Data Collector – 15 Positions

About the role

Save the Children is seeking fifteen Data Collectors to support the baseline survey for the Child Sensitive Social Protection – 3.0 Project (2026‑2029) in the Chongwe and Rufunsa districts of Zambia. The role is short‑term (two weeks) and involves gathering household and child‑level data using pre‑designed questionnaires.

Key responsibilities

• Visit assigned communities in Chongwe and Rufunsa to administer child and caregiver questionnaires, including the ISELA tool and Washington Group Questions.
• Record responses on a smartphone using Kobo Toolbox.
• Ensure accurate capture of demographic, nutrition, education and caregiver practice data.
• Perform basic data cleaning and submit complete data sets and original instruments to Save the Children at the end of the fieldwork.

Required profile

• Completed Grade 12.
• Fluent reading and speaking English; good knowledge of local languages (Nyanja, Lenje, Soli).
• Resident of Chongwe, Rufunsa or nearby areas.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized and be patient.

Required skills

• Kobo Toolbox for mobile data collection.
