Director - Strategic Planning and Information Management

About the role

The Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI) is seeking a senior leader to head its Strategic Planning and Information Management Directorate. Reporting to the Director General, the Director will guide the development, implementation and evaluation of the Institute’s strategic plan and ensure that data and research are translated into actionable public‑health policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the coordination, development and periodic review of ZNPHI’s Strategic Plan to achieve institutional objectives.
• Monitor performance against strategic targets and produce quarterly performance review reports.
• Facilitate mid‑term and end‑term evaluations, integrating findings into future planning cycles.
• Align work‑plans across all directorates and funding streams.
• Oversee research design, operational research implementation and the synthesis of data into information products for decision‑makers.
• Advise on the formulation, approval and implementation of public‑health security policies and guidelines.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in strategic planning, public‑health policy development and programme evaluation.
• Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams within a health‑sector or similar environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear policy recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
