Drilling Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

The Maintenance Coordinator for the DTH Drills section ensures that drilling equipment is kept in optimal condition through effective planning, coordination and oversight of all maintenance activities. You will work closely with planners, technical advisors, mechanics and OEM contractors to minimise downtime, maintain safety standards and control costs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate detailed maintenance schedules for drill equipment in partnership with planners.
• Ensure work packages, instructions and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) comply with OEM specifications.
• Maintain service sheets as live documents and collaborate with the reliability team to prevent recurring failures.
• Secure tools, materials and resources before each maintenance task and support troubleshooting for breakdowns exceeding two hours.
• Produce failure reports for major component breakdowns lasting more than four hours, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Oversee mechanical and electrical maintenance to meet scope, quality standards and timelines.
• Participate in kickoff, pre‑inspection, toolbox and training meetings.
• Ensure statutory inspections and log books are up‑to‑date.
• Assist in creating the maintenance budget and monitor actual spend versus budget, identifying discrepancies and cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating maintenance for drilling or heavy‑equipment assets.
• Strong knowledge of OEM maintenance specifications and reliability practices.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external contractors.
• Analytical mindset for budgeting, cost analysis and root‑cause reporting.
