Driver – Field Office Transportation

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a reliable driver to provide transportation services for its field office in Mantapala, Luapula Province. The driver will ensure safe, efficient travel for staff, visitors, and cargo while maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Drive program vehicles as directed, adhering to traffic rules and road discipline.
• Transport staff, visitors, parcels, letters, and other items to designated locations.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checks of oil, fuel, brakes, lights, windshield wipers, water, and tire pressures.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation such as insurance and road licence.
• Keep detailed maintenance records and alert supervisors when service is due.
• Report accidents, incidents, or vehicle defects promptly and assist in follow‑up actions.
• Perform minor repairs, change tires, refuel, and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
• Ensure vehicles are used only for authorized official business.

Required profile

• Advanced Driving Certificate.
• Proven experience driving program or commercial vehicles.
• Ability to conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.
• Strong attention to safety, documentation, and reporting procedures.
