Driver – Field Office Transportation

About the role

Action Against Hunger USA is seeking a reliable Driver to provide transportation services for its field office in Mantapala, Luapula Province, Zambia. The driver will ensure safe, efficient movement of staff, visitors, and cargo while maintaining vehicle condition and compliance with all regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate program vehicles as directed, adhering to traffic rules and road discipline.
• Transport staff, visitors, and cargo over short and long distances, ensuring passenger safety.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure all documentation (insurance, road licence) is up‑to‑date.
• Perform routine inspections (oil, fuel, brakes, lights, wipers, tire pressure) and report any damage or abnormal conditions.
• Keep maintenance records, schedule service, and perform minor repairs such as tire changes and refuelling.
• Complete required forms and promptly report accidents, incidents, or vehicle defects to the supervisor.
• Ensure vehicles are used only for authorized official business and report any unauthorized use.
• Deliver parcels, letters and other items to offices and businesses as needed.
• Carry out miscellaneous duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Advanced Driving Certificate.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Experience with routine vehicle inspection and basic maintenance.
• Ability to keep accurate records and follow reporting procedures.
