Driver for Field Office in Mantapala

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a reliable driver to support its field office in Mantapala, Luapula Province. The driver will ensure safe, efficient transportation for staff, visitors, and program cargo while maintaining vehicle readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Drive program vehicles as directed, adhering to traffic rules and road discipline.
• Transport staff, visitors, and cargo over short and long distances safely.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections (oil, fuel, brakes, lights, wipers, tire pressure) and report any issues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation such as insurance and road licence.
• Keep maintenance records, schedule services, and remind supervisors of upcoming service dates.
• Complete accident, incident, and unusual occurrence reports promptly.
• Carry out minor repairs, change tires, refuel, and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
• Deliver parcels, letters, and other items to offices and businesses as needed.
• Use vehicles only for authorized official business and report any unauthorized use.

Required profile

• Advanced Driving Certificate (or equivalent).
• Proven experience driving in similar field or humanitarian contexts.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic regulations and road safety practices.
