Female Driver Roster SC/SSA2

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a qualified female driver to join its roster (SC/SSA2). The role involves providing safe and efficient transportation for authorised personnel, visitors and commodities across regional, country and field offices while adhering to UN safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Transport authorised staff, visitors and cargo using light vehicles, trucks, vans, motorcycles or other land transport as required.
• Meet personnel at airports or other entry points and ensure timely delivery to designated locations.
• Operate speed boats or other watercrafts when assigned.
• Follow UN safety, security and road‑traffic regulations at all times.
• Perform basic vehicle checks, routine maintenance and report any issues.
• Provide simple translation of basic conversations between English and the local language.
• Assist with basic administrative tasks in the office or stores when needed.

Required profile

• Female candidate with a valid driver’s licence for the vehicle categories required.
• Proven experience driving in field or humanitarian contexts.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work in varied weather and terrain.
• Basic knowledge of the local language to facilitate simple translations.
• Commitment to UN safety and security procedures.

Required skills

• Safe vehicle operation (light vehicles, trucks, vans, motorcycles).
• Basic vehicle maintenance and pre‑trip inspections.
• Understanding of UN safety and security rules.
• Basic translation skills (local language ↔ English).
