Fundraising Officer

About the role

The Fundraising Officer will lead the generation of financial support for SOS Children’s Villages Zambia through strategic fundraising initiatives. You will identify opportunities, build donor relationships, and create compelling materials to raise awareness of our mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies and plans.
• Organize and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and volunteer activities.
• Identify potential donors, cultivate relationships, and manage donor records.
• Write, submit, and track grant proposals.
• Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance and report on budgets.
• Create marketing materials to promote fundraising initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and child safeguarding standards.
• Engage with media and the public to increase organizational visibility.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 certificate with a degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience in business development, fundraising, and proposal development.
• Experience working with multi‑donor, corporate, and international funding agencies.
• Background in NGOs or donor‑funded environments is a strong advantage.
• High moral standing, personal integrity, and commitment to child protection.
