Group Financial Officer

About the role

The Group Financial Officer will join the executive leadership team of a fast‑growing Zambian conglomerate operating in hardware retail, hospitality and copper processing. Reporting to the Board, the role provides strategic financial direction across all business units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Group’s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance and strengthen governance frameworks.
• Drive profitability improvements, cost optimisation and support business growth initiatives.
• Lead ERP and accounting system enhancements and process‑improvement projects.
• Partner with the Board and Executive Team to highlight risks, variances and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations.
• Mentor and develop finance teams across the Group, building depth and succession.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, CA Sri Lanka, CA Zambia or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years audit experience and 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting and business analysis.
• Experience managing multi‑company or group operations is an advantage.
• Commercially minded, analytical, transparent and hands‑on with excellent communication skills.
