Health and Nutrition Coordinator

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Coordinator will lead the design, implementation and technical oversight of health and nutrition programmes in Zambia, ensuring they align with Action Against Hunger’s strategic objectives and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver high‑quality health and nutrition projects in line with country and sector strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with Action Against Hunger and donor standards.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives for health and nutrition staff.
• Conduct regular field visits, analyse the humanitarian health and nutrition context, and produce evidence‑based program designs.
• Write proposals, support fundraising efforts, and assist with recruitment and procurement as needed.
• Coordinate with logistics, HR, finance and program teams to ensure timely, high‑quality programme delivery.
• Represent the programme externally with government ministries, development partners, NGOs, research institutions and the private sector.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading health and nutrition programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong knowledge of donor guidelines, sector best practices and programme monitoring.
• Excellent analytical, strategic planning and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external partners.
