Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a Health and Nutrition Officer to support its nutrition programmes in the field. The officer will work directly with communities, health facilities and partner organisations to deliver integrated nutrition interventions and ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management of acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi and Integrated Case Management of Childhood Illnesses at health facilities and outreach sites.
• Lead social‑behavior‑change and communication activities to promote appropriate nutrition practices.
• Provide capacity‑building and supervision for Village Health Teams, care‑group volunteers, health workers and district staff.
• Coordinate closely with WASH and Food Security officers to ensure multi‑sectoral integration.
• Identify and verify programme participants, monitor programme performance, prepare timely reports and troubleshoot field implementation issues.
• Ensure monthly performance indicators meet Sphere standards and that the right beneficiaries are targeted.

Required profile

• Experience working in community‑based nutrition or health programmes.
• Ability to supervise field activities and engage with local partners.
• Strong monitoring and reporting skills.
