Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of nutrition interventions at the field level. Working within Action Against Hunger’s multidisciplinary teams, the officer will help ensure that vulnerable populations receive timely, evidence‑based nutrition services.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and supervise acute malnutrition management, MIYCAN, MAMi, and Integrated Case Management of Childhood Illnesses (ICCM) at health facilities and outreach sites.
• Lead social behavior change communication (SBCC) activities to promote healthy nutrition practices.
• Build capacity of Village Health Teams (VHTs), care‑group volunteers, health workers, and district officials through training and mentorship.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to integrate multi‑sectoral activities.
• Identify and verify programme participants, conduct routine monitoring, and produce timely reports.
• Troubleshoot field‑level implementation challenges and ensure compliance with performance indicators.

Required profile

• Experience in community‑based nutrition programs and acute malnutrition management.
• Proven ability to train and supervise field staff and volunteers.
• Strong coordination skills with government, NGOs, and community structures.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
