Human Resource Officer – Employee Wellness

About the role

The Human Resource Officer – Employee Wellness reports to the Human Resource Manager – Employee Relations and Psycho‑Social Counselling. The role is responsible for promoting health, well‑being and overall welfare of ZRA staff through coordinated wellness initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the well‑being and quality of life of ZRA employees.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate wellness activities across the Authority.
• Promote a culture of total wellness and health.
• Develop and implement employee wellness programs and initiatives.
• Provide counselling and support services to staff.
• Foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
• Improve employee engagement, productivity and job satisfaction.
• Implement strategies to reduce stress, absenteeism and turnover.
• Introduce mental‑health and stress‑management mechanisms.
• Promote physical health, fitness and work‑life balance programmes.
• Strengthen employee engagement and retention programmes.
• Coordinate Employee Wellness Champions across all stations.
• Develop health education and promotion activities.

Required profile

• Grade Twelve Certificate (or equivalent) with five credits including Mathematics and English.
• Degree in Human Resources, Industrial or Social Psychology or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience administering wellness initiatives.
• Valid associate membership and 2025 practising licence of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM), Psychology Association Zambia, or a comparable professional body.
