Human Resources Manager – Zambia Operations

About the role

Our client, a leading recruitment and HR consulting firm, is looking for a Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions for its Zambia operation. The role will ensure compliance with Zambian labour legislation while supporting business objectives through effective people management practices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employee and labour relations, including grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations and representation before authorities.
• Provide expert advice on Zambian labour laws, policies and procedures, and implement mitigation strategies for industrial relations risks.
• Oversee recruitment, selection and onboarding, ensuring timely placement of qualified candidates.
• Support talent management by identifying high‑potential employees and maintaining retention initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable labour regulations and maintain up‑to‑date HR policies and employee records.
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing programmes and a positive workplace culture through surveys and communication initiatives.
• Prepare monthly HR reports, workforce analytics and key metrics such as turnover, absenteeism and recruitment performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Labour Relations or a related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior HR leadership or management role.
• Relevant experience within the mining and construction environment.
