Industrial Hygienist – Fixed Term (LEP)

About the role

The Lumwana Expansion Project Team is looking for a dedicated Industrial Hygienist on a fixed‑term basis. You will lead the identification, evaluation, and control of workplace health hazards, ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Generate Similar Exposure Groups (SEGs) and develop sampling plans.
• Conduct monitoring of noise, dust, illumination, radiation, vibration, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
• Identify occupational health hazards and recommend engineering, administrative, and personal protective controls.
• Deliver training and presentations to raise employee awareness of health and safety programs.
• Implement corrective actions, suspend operations when necessary, and advise management on health issues.
• Design and execute studies to assess employee exposure and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Lead ergonomics initiatives and advise on workers’ compensation claims related to exposures.
• Perform food safety and hygiene audits and manage personal exposure assessment programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Hygiene, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in industrial or occupational health.
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety regulations and exposure monitoring techniques.
• Ability to communicate findings clearly and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
