IT Support Officer

About the role

The IT Support Officer will provide first‑line technical assistance to employees of ME Long Teng Zambia Ltd, ensuring that all computer systems, hardware and software operate smoothly. The role involves diagnosing issues, performing installations and upgrades, and supporting the company’s IT infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support via phone, email or in‑person for hardware, software and network problems.
• Install, configure, backup and troubleshoot computers, printers, CCTV cameras and other IT equipment.
• Assist in the maintenance and administration of servers, networks and security systems.
• Perform regular system updates, upgrades and security monitoring.
• Document processes, configurations and troubleshooting steps.
• Deliver training to staff on IT resources and applications.
• Manage software licences and maintain hardware inventory.
• Support planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects and recommend new technologies.
• Generate reports on support activities and analyse trends for improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in IT or equivalent qualification.
• Grade 12 with passes in Science, Mathematics and English.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
