IT Technician

About the role

The IT Technician will provide comprehensive technical support for hardware, software, and network infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of end‑user devices and server environments. This role involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and user account management across Windows and Linux platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and configure hardware platforms, operating systems, and applications.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and conditional maintenance on IT equipment and recommend disposal of obsolete assets.
• Keep operating systems and firmware up to date on endpoints and network devices.
• Conduct daily health checks of IT assets and report findings to the Group IT team.
• Manage user accounts, password resets, and permission settings in Active Directory and Office 365.
• Troubleshoot end‑user issues within Service Desk SLA, escalating to back‑office when needed.
• Maintain anti‑virus software, scan/print services, and electronic file management.
• Support network infrastructure, including configuration, administration, and performance monitoring.
• Assist with information security, data protection, and ICT compliance activities.

Required profile

• Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (minimum Grade Twelve).
• Paid‑up membership with ICTAZ.
• At least 3–4 years of experience in IT operations, support, or a similar role.
• Experience with Windows and Linux servers and cloud environments.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are advantageous.
