About the role
The Hospital Canteen is looking for a reliable Kitchen Steward to ensure a clean and safe food‑service environment. You will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to maintain hygiene standards and support daily operations.
Key responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, storerooms, and work surfaces.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies.
- Dispose of kitchen waste in a hygienic manner.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
- Provide support to chefs and kitchen staff as needed.
Required profile
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with credit in English.
- Certificate in Food Production or Hospitality (advantageous).
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a kitchen or food‑service setting.
- Computer literate.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
