Logistics Specialist – LEP (Fixed‑Term Contract)

About the role

The Logistics Specialist – LEP will join the Project Department of Lumwana Mining Company on a fixed‑term basis. Reporting to the Logistic Coordinator, you will simplify the import and export movement of goods while ensuring full compliance with global and Zambian customs regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the movement of goods by air, road, sea and courier services.
• Maintain carrier relationships and ensure adherence to company transport standards.
• Arrange port clearance and smooth transportation of containers to the discharge point.
• Issue clean proof of delivery (POD) for all consignments.
• Determine customs tariff classifications and regulatory requirements, including HS‑code assignment.
• Apply for VAT deferments, duty exemptions and advance tariff rulings to minimise costs.
• Ensure all import/export activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage CACP and AEO compliance to reduce border congestion.
• Implement new legislation and maintain a robust customs document retention system.
• Coordinate with finance to process ZRA payments on time and verify partner permits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics and customs compliance.
• Strong knowledge of HS‑code classification and Zambian customs procedures.
• Ability to work with finance, carriers and regulatory authorities.
• Detail‑oriented with a results‑driven mindset.
