Maintenance Technician / Electrician

About the role

Korridor is hiring a permanent, full-time Maintenance Technician / Electrician for its Team Lusaka Truck Stop in Zambia. The post reports to the Security Technician and has no direct reports. The role covers installation and maintenance of security and electrical systems, including CCTV, alarms, access control and power equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain CCTV IP cameras, intruder alarm systems and access controls
• Install and maintain single-phase and three-phase electrical equipment and DC power systems
• Maintain basic LAN networking
• Maintain fuel pumps
• Keep a clean working environment and complete jobs on time
• Report daily on items that are and are not functioning, and give before-and-after reports on maintenance work (diagnostics and outcome)
• Perform basic IT troubleshooting and basic networking troubleshooting

Required profile

• Diploma in Information Technology, Power Electrical or an engineering-related qualification
• Two years of working experience in a related field
• Proven work experience as an electrician
• Ability to work in confined spaces, on heights and long hours, with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work out of town and outside the country

Required skills

• Skilled in AC and DC power; able to install and troubleshoot DC and AC power
• Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment
• Complex problem-solving and good communication skills
• Computer skills; printer repair is an added advantage
• Health and safety awareness is an added advantage
