Manager, Gateway & Clearance Operations

About the role

The Manager, Gateway & Clearance Operations will lead operational integrity, compliance and network efficiency across Lusaka and five Outlying Delivery Area stations in Zambia. Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations, you will bridge ground‑level execution with executive oversight, ensuring risk mitigation and process optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve inefficiencies across the Zambia station network, including Lusaka Gateway and ODA stations.
• Manage resources, departments and locations to achieve operational goals consistently.
• Oversee road and ground linehaul networks, fleet operations, transport scheduling and heavy‑weight dispatch.
• Direct inbound and outbound clearance, brokerage operations and export controls while complying with dangerous goods regulations.
• Handle contract management, sourcing and relationships with Global Service Partners, commercial airlines and third‑party trucking operators.
• Lead, mentor and audit a team of approximately 20 direct reports, travelling regularly to remote stations.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating within the Zambian logistics landscape, including cross‑border trucking and customs regulations.
• Extensive background in hub operations, service assurance and network control.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, decentralized teams across multiple locations.
• Strong expertise in process mapping and quality management.
