Metallurgist – Nickel Processing

About the role

The Metallurgist will provide metallurgical guidance and support for a nickel processing plant. The role focuses on daily measurement, reporting and analysis of key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and help the plant meet its production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, analyse and troubleshoot process issues, proposing and implementing solutions.
• Lead metallurgical projects aimed at optimising plant performance.
• Maintain HSE standards and ensure compliance within the nickel plant.
• Perform timely sampling, analysis and accurate reporting of metallurgical data.
• Develop and maintain operating methods and standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical support to operations to achieve production goals.
• Monitor short‑term metallurgical events and adjust reagent addition rates.
• Facilitate data acquisition, warehousing, distribution and analytics.
• Identify and execute continuous‑improvement initiatives while controlling operational costs.

Required profile

• 1–2 years experience in mineral processing (nickel flotation or talc removal preferred).
• Strong analytical, numerical and IT skills.
• Good understanding of metallurgical processes and control strategies.
• Basic health‑and‑safety knowledge and ability to work under pressure.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and able to work in shift patterns.
