About the role
The Metallurgist will provide metallurgical guidance and support for a nickel processing plant. The role focuses on daily measurement, reporting and analysis of key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and help the plant meet its production targets.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, analyse and troubleshoot process issues, proposing and implementing solutions.
- Lead metallurgical projects aimed at optimising plant performance.
- Maintain HSE standards and ensure compliance within the nickel plant.
- Perform timely sampling, analysis and accurate reporting of metallurgical data.
- Develop and maintain operating methods and standard operating procedures.
- Provide technical support to operations to achieve production goals.
- Monitor short‑term metallurgical events and adjust reagent addition rates.
- Facilitate data acquisition, warehousing, distribution and analytics.
- Identify and execute continuous‑improvement initiatives while controlling operational costs.
Required profile
- 1–2 years experience in mineral processing (nickel flotation or talc removal preferred).
- Strong analytical, numerical and IT skills.
- Good understanding of metallurgical processes and control strategies.
- Basic health‑and‑safety knowledge and ability to work under pressure.
- Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and able to work in shift patterns.
