About the role
The Mine Supervisor – Ground Engaging Tools (G.E.T) is responsible for supervising and coordinating G.E.T activities across the drill fleet to ensure safe, efficient and cost‑effective operations. The role implements quality assurance and control processes, monitors tool performance, maintains accurate records and works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain and OEM partners.
Key responsibilities
- Promote and enforce compliance with all health, safety, environmental and operational standards.
- Supervise daily G.E.T activities across the drill fleet, ensuring adherence to approved procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of drill consumables and G.E.T components to maintain quality standards.
- Monitor wear rates, failure trends and component performance, escalating abnormalities.
- Verify that all G.E.T changes are recorded in drilling management systems and maintain operational records.
- Support investigations into premature G.E.T failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor stock levels, communicate replenishment needs and coordinate with warehouse personnel.
- Provide technical guidance to drill crews on correct G.E.T installation, operation and removal.
- Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with SOPs and QA/QC requirements.
- Assist in developing and reviewing SOPs, work instructions and risk assessments.
- Prepare operational reports on G.E.T performance, costs and equipment condition.
- Participate in cost‑reduction initiatives and improvement projects related to drill consumables.
- Liaise with Maintenance, Operations and OEM representatives to resolve technical issues.
Required profile
- Proven experience supervising G.E.T activities on a drill fleet in a mining environment.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and operational standards.
- Ability to conduct inspections, monitor wear trends and maintain accurate records.
- Experience coordinating stock management and liaising with warehouse teams.
- Effective communication skills for providing technical guidance and coaching to drill crews.
