About the role
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator will strengthen Save the Children’s capacity to design and implement effective MEAL systems across programmes in Zambia. Working closely with technical specialists, project managers and partner NGOs, the Coordinator will ensure that monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning components are embedded in all project cycles.
Key responsibilities
- Support the MEAL Manager in preparing logical models, log‑frames, result frameworks and Performance Measurement Plans.
- Define objectives, collect survey data, set targets and integrate M&E components into new project implementation plans.
- Develop a unified monitoring system and reporting mechanisms for partner NGOs.
- Introduce participatory accountability mechanisms that enable beneficiaries to register complaints and provide feedback.
- Conduct situation analyses, design monitoring systems, and carry out field monitoring visits.
- Assist fundraising efforts by contributing to proposal writing and ensuring MEAL activities and costs are covered.
- Develop guidance for incorporating MEAL costs into proposals.
- Provide orientation and training to MEAL field officers and identify capacity‑building needs.
Required profile
- Experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within development or humanitarian programmes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, project managers and external partners.
- Strong analytical skills for designing frameworks and interpreting data.
