Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

About the role
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will join African Health Volunteers for Emergency Response Rescue and Referrals Partnerships in Lusaka. Working full‑time in a hybrid setting, the officer will design and implement M&E frameworks to track the impact of emergency response, rescue, referral and primary healthcare programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain M&E tools, indicators and data collection systems.
- Collect, validate, clean and manage quantitative and qualitative programme data.
- Conduct routine monitoring visits and ensure timely data entry.
- Prepare high‑quality reports, dashboards and presentations for internal teams, donors and partners.
- Support learning and adaptation through data analysis and results‑based management.
- Provide capacity‑building on M&E practices to programme staff.
- Contribute evidence and indicators to proposal development and ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field; postgraduate M&E qualification is an asset.
- Experience monitoring and evaluating health, humanitarian or community development programmes, preferably in low‑resource settings.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a hybrid work environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues, community members and partners.
Required skills
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis software such as Excel, SPSS or STATA.
- Familiarity with digital data collection platforms (advantageous).
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
