Monitoring & Evaluation Officer – Permanent Position

About the role

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia seeks a senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to lead the assessment of council programmes and nursing and midwifery institutions. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs, the incumbent will ensure performance tracking, data‑driven decision‑making and timely interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and disseminate monitoring and evaluation policies and guidelines.
• Monitor and evaluate council programmes and affiliated institutions to assess performance and recommend remedial actions.
• Design, test and update M&E tools to support effective interventions.
• Compile, analyse and report M&E data for all council programmes.

Required profile

• Full Form V or Grade 12 (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Project Management or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Professional training/certification in Monitoring & Evaluation or Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2, Results‑Based Management).
• Proven ability to produce technical and analytical reports.
• Fluent English communication skills.
