National Consultant – Forecast Accuracy & Distribution Costing for RH Commodities

About the role

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking a National Consultant to strengthen Zambia's capacity in forecasting reproductive health commodities and estimating distribution costs. The consultant will work closely with the Ministry of Health’s National Supply Chain Coordinating Unit to embed new tools and improve supply‑chain performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the institutionalisation of the newly developed forecast accuracy tool within the Ministry of Health’s standard operating procedures.
• Support the forecasting, quantification and supply‑plan review processes for reproductive health commodities.
• Provide technical and logistical assistance for UNFPA Supplies Partnership Steering Committee meetings, including preparation of side events.
• Coordinate with UNFPA and MoH stakeholders to ensure data quality and sustainability of forecasting practices.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in health‑sector supply chain management, preferably in reproductive health.
• Proven ability to work with government ministries and international partners.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with forecasting tools.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
