Plumber – Mining Site Maintenance

About the role

Join the versatile maintenance team at Lumwana Mining Company as a Plumber. You will be responsible for maintaining safe and efficient water and drainage systems that support uninterrupted mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, pipelines, fixtures, and water infrastructure across the mine site.
• Inspect and troubleshoot leaks, blockages, equipment faults, and system failures.
• Maintain industrial water supply and drainage networks, including SPU pumps in macerator tanks and the sewage treatment plant.
• Conduct regular inspections of plumbing installations in buildings to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Support preventative maintenance programmes and respond promptly to emergency breakdowns.
• Record work completed and materials used accurately.

Required profile

• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate.
• Trade Certificate in Plumbing and Sheet Metal or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a mining environment or similar.
• Valid Zambian driver’s licence (preferred).

Required skills

• Installation and repair of plumbing systems and pipelines.
• Industrial water supply and drainage system maintenance.
• Operation and maintenance of SPU pumps, macerator tanks, and sewage treatment plant equipment.
• Leak detection, blockage removal, and system troubleshooting.
