Procurement Specialist – Lusaka

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will support internal customers by managing the sourcing, ordering and supplier relationship processes for outsourced goods and services. Working under the Procurement Manager, the role ensures timely communication, ethical procurement practices and continuous improvement across the department.

Key responsibilities

• Define comprehensive procurement scopes and specifications.
• Issue RFQs/tenders, evaluate submissions objectively and obtain approvals.
• Place purchase orders, follow up on deliveries and negotiate optimal terms.
• Conduct weekly meetings with end‑user departments to assess needs and resolve issues.
• Maintain professional communication with suppliers and perform post‑purchase performance assessments.
• Achieve best value for money by securing competitive pricing and recording savings.
• Uphold ethical standards and company policies in all procurement activities.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) with qualifications validated by ZAQA.
• Minimum two years of relevant procurement experience.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to create presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
