Project Manager – Commercial Construction (QSR)

About the role

The Project Manager will support the execution and management of commercial construction and refurbishment projects for Hungry Lion’s quick‑service restaurant network across Zambia. Working closely with the Regional Construction Project Manager, the role ensures projects are audited, delivered on time, within budget and to company standards before hand‑over to Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality and compliance.
• Coordinate construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects from planning through completion.
• Prepare project scopes, budgets, quotations and resource plans.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, landlords, suppliers and local authorities to secure approvals.
• Monitor contractor performance, timelines and material utilisation to ensure cost‑effective delivery.
• Resolve on‑site technical and operational challenges efficiently.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, progress reports and stakeholder updates using company systems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and proper use of assets.

Required profile

• Degree in Project Management, Building Sciences, Civil/Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in construction, retail development or project management.
• Practical exposure to QSR or commercial retail construction projects is highly desirable.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively.
• Membership to a recognised professional body (e.g., EIZ, ZIQS, PMI) is an advantage.
