Public Health & Wellness Officer

About the role

The Public Health & Wellness Officer will support the Wellness Coordinator in designing and delivering holistic health programs for employees. This people‑focused role aims to improve both physical and mental wellbeing through outreach, education, and engaging activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Wellness Coordinator in creating and implementing wellness programs, health screenings, and educational sessions.
• Promote health initiatives using toolbox talks, lunch‑and‑learns, newsletters, and social media.
• Prepare and distribute IEC content and marketing materials for wellness activities.
• Track participation, compile reports, and maintain confidentiality of health data.
• Develop strategies aligned with mining and health industry standards.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education; a degree in health, public health, wellness promotion or related field is advantageous.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in health promotion or wellness programs.
• Strong communication skills, creativity, and ability to motivate people.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
