Quantity Surveyor – Civil & Road Construction

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will manage measurement, cost control and reporting for civil and road construction projects on a remote site in Kasempa, Zambia. The role focuses on earthworks quantity management, ensuring accurate cut‑fill, borrow and haul calculations and compliance with project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform lot‑level measurement and verification against survey records.
• Measure and certify subcontractor work.
• Capture daily costs and monitor budget performance.
• Prepare monthly cost reports for the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Manage earthworks quantities, including cut, fill, borrow and haul calculations.
• Control civils measurement and associated costs.

Required profile

• BSc or Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum three years’ experience in civil and road construction.
• Registered with ZIQS or eligible for registration.
• Proven experience in earthworks quantity management (cut/fill, borrow, haul).
• Ability to work in remote site conditions with resilience and adaptability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CCS Candy software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Expertise in earthworks quantity management (cut/fill, borrow, haul).
