Retail Development Lead

About the role

The Retail Development Lead drives the consistent execution of Yalelo’s marketing campaigns, retail standards and customer growth initiatives across an assigned region. Acting as the field link between Marketing, Retail Sales and Store Operations, the role ensures approved activations, branding and promotional initiatives are implemented at store level.

Key responsibilities

• Lead field execution of approved activations, community engagement and customer acquisition initiatives, measuring leads, customers acquired and sales uplift.
• Consolidate customer feedback, product mix, competitor activity and store observations into actionable market intelligence reports.
• Implement marketing‑approved campaigns, promotions and store initiatives, ensuring timely execution and compliance.
• Conduct regular store visits to monitor POS placement, branding, promotional displays and visual merchandising, driving retail compliance scores.
• Oversee and allocate field activities to Customer Insights & Growth Officers, ensuring completion of field plans and achievement of regional objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in retail marketing, FMCG, trade marketing, sales or retail operations.
• Proven experience coordinating multi‑site retail execution, activations or merchandising programmes.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret sales, customer and market data.
• Excellent stakeholder management, coaching and presentation skills.
• Commercially minded with a strong customer focus and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Highly organised, proactive and results‑driven.
