Senior Construction Superintendent – Tailings Storage Facility (Fixed Term)

About the role

Lumwana Mining Company is looking for a Senior Construction Superintendent to lead the construction of a world‑class Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) and Water Storage Facility (WSF) as part of the Lumwana Expansion. This fixed‑term position reports to the Construction Lead – LEP and is responsible for delivering the project safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities, coordinating trades and subcontractors to ensure smooth progress.
• Lead all construction work related to TSF and WSF, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Review and approve contractor schedules, methodologies, quality management systems, and execution plans.
• Conduct construction progress meetings, resolve technical issues, and maintain communication with clients, engineers, operations teams, and contractors.
• Ensure work complies with approved drawings, specifications, environmental and regulatory requirements, budgets, and schedules.
• Monitor productivity, cost, quality, and resource utilization to meet project objectives.
• Coordinate interfaces between TSF works, utilities, operations, and other project packages.
• Maintain accurate project records, progress tracking, and contractor performance reports.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and development support to supervisors and construction personnel.
