Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International seeks a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, integration and management of road crash data systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance in West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems across the ECOWAS region.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection methodologies, database management and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road‑infrastructure databases into a unified crash data platform.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards and road‑safety analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting tools and monitoring systems for evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation mechanisms and support capacity‑building workshops for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, transport analytics or digital monitoring, with 7 years focused on crash data systems.
• Proven experience delivering transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Background in international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to work with integrated databases, data‑interoperability systems and road‑safety observatories.
