Senior Engineer, Reliability

About the role

First Quantum is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead its Reliability Engineers Team. The role focuses on implementing the Strategic Asset Management Plan, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring safe, reliable operation of plant production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure team compliance with safety procedures, standards and training.
• Implement and manage periodic reviews of asset management strategies for plant equipment.
• Lead a continuous defect‑elimination process, identifying and addressing chronic failures.
• Direct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high‑impact events, define corrective actions and monitor implementation.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of defect‑elimination and RCA actions.
• Provide effective reporting and communication with other sections to ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Allocate resources so the team works safely and technically correctly.
• Mentor and develop subordinates, handling performance, conflict and crisis management.
• Establish succession plans and ensure the right people are in the right jobs.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies to improve asset management.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of reliability engineering methodologies such as FMEA, RCA and RCM.
• Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle management and condition monitoring for mining equipment.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking and written communication skills in English.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and high‑quality standards.
