Senior Global Health Security Advisor – Zambia

About the role

The Senior Global Health Security Advisor will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to strengthen Zambia’s public health security infrastructure and emergency preparedness capabilities. The role supports the Zambia National Public Health Institute and relevant government agencies in delivering life‑saving humanitarian assistance aligned with U.S. Executive Order directives.

Key responsibilities

• Offer technical support for preventing, detecting, and responding to infectious disease threats in Zambia.
• Coordinate and track implementation of the five‑year Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Zambia.
• Provide expertise across four cooperation areas: infectious disease surveillance, epidemic preparedness and response, laboratory systems, and data systems.
• Embed technical advisors within national programs to enhance sustainable capacity and improve coordination between U.S. and Zambian authorities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global health security, public health, or infectious disease emergency response.
• Proven ability to work with government institutions and multinational stakeholders.
• Familiarity with U.S. government health directives and international health regulations.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills to manage multi‑sectoral initiatives.
