Senior Youth Employment & Skills Development Expert

About the role
NTU International is seeking a senior expert to lead youth employment and skills development initiatives within an EU‑funded technical assistance project for ECOWAS transport governance. The role focuses on designing and implementing vocational training, internship schemes and capacity‑building activities across West Africa.
Key responsibilities
- Support the design and rollout of youth employment and skills development programmes linked to transport, logistics and infrastructure.
- Provide technical assistance on vocational training, professional development and workforce capacity‑building.
- Conduct labour‑market and skills‑gap assessments for transport‑related sectors.
- Develop youth‑focused training curricula, internship schemes and employment initiatives.
- Advise ECOWAS institutions and Member States on youth inclusion strategies and skills‑development frameworks.
- Promote participation of young professionals in regional transport and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare skills‑development strategies, training materials, employment analyses and policy recommendations.
- Coordinate with training institutions, universities, public authorities, private sector partners and development agencies.
- Deliver workshops, consultations and capacity‑building sessions.
- Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation of youth and skills‑development activities.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in education, labour economics, human‑resource development, social sciences, public policy or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in youth employment, vocational training or workforce capacity‑building.
- Minimum 7 years of experience specifically in youth employment, technical training or vocational education.
- Proven experience on development, infrastructure or social‑inclusion projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
- Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
