Service Manager

About the role

The Service Manager leads after‑sales service for Liebherr equipment across mine sites in Zambia. Acting as the primary technical advisor, the role ensures seamless coordination between customers, internal teams, and Liebherr factories while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage on‑site labor services, ad‑hoc jobs, breakdowns, warranty work, and support packages.
• Promote and sell modular programs, support contracts, digital services (TSA, CDP, remote service) and parts sales.
• Coordinate new machine builds, major shutdowns/overhauls, and module programs with internal parts business and external customers.
• Implement workplace safety, quality control, and correct tooling for maintenance tasks.
• Measure, report, and forecast utilization; engage and manage subcontractors for field service.
• Set up the service department to Liebherr standards and respect customer site guidelines.
• Provide technical support, asset‑management guidance, and monthly reporting to stakeholders.
• Assist in developing service processes, personnel training, and fleet monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing after‑sales service for heavy equipment, preferably in mining environments.
• Strong customer‑facing skills with ability to build lasting relationships with client management and maintenance personnel.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities for complex shutdowns and multi‑site operations.
• Ability to work autonomously on site and coordinate with global Liebherr factories.
