Site HSE Officer (12-month Fixed Term Contract)

About the role

The Site HSE Officer will be based on‑site in Solwezi, Zambia, for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will support the Project Delivery Group by ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance across all project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review legal and project HSE requirements and advise the EPCM Construction Manager on compliance.
• Implement hazard identification and risk management processes for all site work.
• Participate in task risk assessments and ensure control measures are applied.
• Report on the Critical Control Verification programme.
• Deliver HSE induction training for all personnel.
• Maintain HSE documentation and records required by the management system.
• Communicate incidents, lessons learned, hazards, risks and controls to project teams.
• Conduct health and safety interactions, toolbox talks and daily pre‑start meetings.
• Attend monthly contractor and project HSE meetings.
• Perform planned task observations and audit contractor activities monthly.
• Support the development, testing and maintenance of an Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
• Respond to workplace incidents, participate in investigations and track corrective actions.

Required profile

• Recognised Health & Safety degree or diploma.
• Short courses may be considered, but a formal HSE qualification is advantageous.
