Solar PV Civil Engineer

About the role

We are a leading electrical services and renewable‑energy engineering firm delivering large‑scale solar PV projects across Zambia. We are mobilising a 25 MWp utility‑scale solar plant in Chipalo Village, Luwingu District and need a hands‑on Civil Engineer to own all civil activities on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all civil works from planning through close‑out, including access roads, clearing, grading, drainage, fencing, foundations and concrete/earthworks.
• Interpret civil and structural drawings, set out works and supervise concrete placement, compaction testing and quality checks.
• Flex into mechanical, electrical or general site tasks when civil is not on the critical path, while retaining ownership of all civil‑related outcomes.
• Monitor site for civil issues, inspect roads, drainage, fencing and foundations, and ensure alignment with the Project Manager and Site Engineer.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, defects and corrective actions; contribute to commissioning packs and as‑built documentation.
• Enforce HSE procedures, use safe excavation and earth‑works practices, wear PPE and report hazards immediately.

Required profile

• Relevant civil engineering qualification (Diploma in Civil Engineering, TEVETA Trade Test/Craft Certificate or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years experience leading civil works on construction sites, covering roads, drainage, earthworks, fencing and foundations.
• Proven ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings, layout plans and specifications.
• Valid Zambian driver’s licence.
