Superintendent, Earthworks

About the role

The Superintendent, Earthworks will lead the construction and maintenance of all in‑pit haul roads, ramps, and perimeter roads to support mining operations. This senior position requires proactive planning to minimise production disruption while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction and maintenance of in‑pit haul roads, ramps, and perimeter roads according to design specifications.
• Manage loading and transportation of aggregate products to various site areas.
• Oversee projects such as safety berm construction, desilting, crusher tip clean‑ups, water control, and pad construction for power line poles.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and ensure safe working practices.
• Plan and execute waste dump management and dust suppression activities.
• Ensure timely delivery of aggregate products and maintenance of road infrastructure.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in open‑pit operations.
• Grade 12 with at least five passes; degree in Civil or Mining Engineering preferred.
• Road‑building qualification is an advantage.
• Valid EIZ membership and all qualifications certified by ZAQA.
• Strong leadership, planning, and ability to work under extreme pressure.
