Technology Engineer – Maintenance & Digital Transformation

About the role

Lumwana Mining Company is seeking a motivated Technology Engineer to join its versatile maintenance team. Reporting to the Reliability Coordinator, you will drive cost optimisation, digital transformation and product/process innovation across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Identify recurring equipment failures and develop engineering solutions to mitigate them.
• Develop and review asset maintenance strategies using RCM, FMEA, PMO and RCA.
• Collect, analyse and visualise data with Power BI, SQL, Smart Fleet and Vision Link.
• Create Power BI dashboards to monitor equipment KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, availability and maintenance cost.
• Scope and lead cost‑saving and efficiency improvement projects.
• Conduct cost analysis and value engineering for new product or process introductions.
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, process flow diagrams and control plans in collaboration with operations and quality teams.
• Supervise Maintenance Dispatch Analysts and oversee real‑time monitoring of the Heavy Mining Equipment fleet.

Required profile

• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate.
• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a mining environment or a similar industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Power BI.
