Transport and Logistics Officer

About the role

The Zambia Revenue Authority is seeking a Transport and Logistics Officer to implement its transport policy and ensure a cost‑effective, efficient vehicle fleet. Reporting to the Transport and Logistics Manager, the officer will oversee vehicle usage, maintenance, fuel management and driver coordination across the authority.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor vehicle usage through logbooks and an electronic fleet management system.
• Maintain service schedules and ensure timely servicing of all authority vehicles.
• Conduct regular fitness inspections, supervise minor repairs, and verify garage services meet ZRA standards.
• Ensure all vehicles are licensed, insured and road‑worthy, and manage police reports for traffic accidents.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date fleet register and recommend vehicles for disposal.
• Oversee fuel and lubricant availability, monitor fuel draws from approved stations and report consumption against approved levels.
• Coordinate driver and mechanic staffing, supervising their daily activities.

Required profile

• Grade Twelve certificate with at least five credits including Mathematics and English.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Transportation, Logistics Management or related field, plus a Diploma in Transport and Logistics.
• Minimum three years of post‑qualifying experience in transport or logistics management.
• Membership of the Engineering Institute of Zambia and/or the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, planning and leadership abilities with high integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electronic fleet management systems.
• Knowledge of vehicle licensing, insurance and road‑worthiness standards.
• Ability to generate fuel consumption reports and recommend improvements.
