Business Development Specialist – Marketing Agency

About the role

Markit Business Solutions is seeking a results‑driven Business Development Specialist to expand its client base across Zambia. You will play a key part in connecting businesses with our compliance, branding, digital marketing and web development services.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in SME, corporate and institutional sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
• Present and pitch Markit’s service portfolio to prospects.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and presentations.
• Conduct market research to spot trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to align efforts with brand strategy.
• Represent Markit at networking events, meetings and industry functions.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales or account management.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of the Zambian business landscape, especially the SME sector.
