Chemical Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a knowledgeable Chemical Procurement Specialist to join our client’s team. The role blends chemical expertise with procurement insight, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient handling of chemicals across operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage chemical ordering to meet operational needs while maintaining optimal stock levels.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, ensuring cost‑effective procurement.
• Oversee correct storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals in line with safety standards.
• Provide technical guidance on chemical selection, develop specifications, and troubleshoot usage issues.
• Train staff on safe handling, application procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain and update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and conduct safety audits.
• Monitor chemical performance, conduct quality testing, and recommend efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of chemical safety, environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
