About the role

The Driver Trainer Officer is responsible for designing and delivering training programmes for truck drivers, ensuring they acquire the practical skills and safety knowledge required for daily operations. This role combines instructional expertise with a strong focus on road safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare customized lesson plans that address specific driver needs.
• Conduct classroom and on‑road training sessions for truck drivers.
• Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
• Analyse critical traffic situations and propose safety improvements.
• Instruct drivers on vehicle components, functions, and on‑road regulations.
• Help drivers build confidence and competence, especially in emergency handling.
• Perform performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Enforce safety, security, and procedural policies within the department.
• Review citizen complaints related to truck drivers and recommend actions.
• Research emerging technologies to enhance training efficiency and safety.

Required profile

• Safety qualification background.
• Certificate or diploma in teaching.
• Basic knowledge of transport operations.
• Valid driving instructor’s licence or equivalent certification.
