IT Specialist – Manufacturing Environment

About the role

The IT Specialist will be responsible for managing and supporting the entire IT infrastructure of a growing steel manufacturing company in Lusaka. The role ensures that computer systems, networks, servers and security equipment operate reliably while providing prompt technical assistance to all staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor computers, printers, servers, network devices and overall IT infrastructure.
• Provide first‑line technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and resolve user problems.
• Configure and manage LAN/WAN, routers, switches, Wi‑Fi and network security controls.
• Implement and oversee data backup, recovery procedures and cybersecurity measures.
• Administer user accounts, access controls and email systems.
• Support and maintain CCTV, access control and other electronic security systems.
• Maintain accurate IT documentation, asset registers and software licence records.
• Liaise with external service providers to ensure timely resolution of technical incidents.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to work independently and under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
