Line Helicopter Pilot

About the role

The Line Helicopter Pilot will provide dedicated aerial support for conservation, law‑enforcement and park‑management activities in Sioma Ngwezi National Park, Zambia. Reporting to the Aviation Manager, the pilot will ensure safe, efficient helicopter operations while mentoring low‑hour pilots to build local aviation capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safe helicopter flight operations in compliance with civil aviation regulations and Peace Parks SOPs.
• Plan flights, manage fuel, and maintain rigorous airmanship standards.
• Support anti‑poaching rapid‑reaction missions, wildlife monitoring, and emergency response.
• Maintain aircraft according to service schedules, ensuring cleanliness and flight‑worthiness.
• Manage hangar facilities, flight‑line fuel storage, and flight following requirements.
• Report and record all notifiable incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Valid commercial helicopter pilot licence recognised by the Zambian Civil Aviation Authority.
• Significant experience operating helicopters in remote or conservation environments.
• Ability to mentor and train low‑hour pilots.
• Strong understanding of civil aviation regulations and safety procedures.
