Logistics Supervisor

About the role

The Logistics Supervisor will oversee daily warehouse and freight operations, ensuring efficient coordination of logistics activities to achieve best value for money. This role is pivotal in managing export documentation for cement and clinker, and in supporting inbound and outbound routing plans.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily warehouse, freight and distribution activities in line with company procedures.
• Prepare and control all export documentation for cement and clinker, including shipping, customs and import/export paperwork.
• Execute inbound and outbound routing plans, dynamic load planning and third‑party carrier coordination.
• Facilitate SADC document clearance with agents and resolve carrier, internal and customer issues.
• Support sales scheduling, procurement, production material requirements and transport functions.
• Monitor import/export compliance, handle customer service issues and generate Goods‑in‑Transit reports.
• Prepare stock aging reports, reconcile inbound/outbound material movements with the ERP system and produce daily/monthly performance reports.
• Oversee weighbridge operations, logistics data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supervise, coach and train logistics staff and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Grade 12 School Certificate with a Degree/Diploma in Transport and Logistics.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant logistics or supply‑chain experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Permanent and pensionable contract eligibility.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory and material reconciliation.
